General Information

It belongs to the Pasifloraceae family, it is considered a wild fruit from the Andean areas of South America. It is highly produced in Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela and New Zealand.

This fruit is also known as taxo, tumbo or parcha, it has a strong yellow skin that turns orange when it has ripened, it has a gelatinous and acidic pulp with abundant seeds, its aroma is quite pleasant.

It is grown between 1800 and 3500 meters above sea level.
